In the past I picked up that Grammostola rosea and Brachypelma albopilosum gets to know the difference between normal handling of the enclosure and clicking open the lid for feeding, They don't react to me moving and handling the cage, but the moment I click open the lid for feeding they come closer and wait for the food. More recently I saw the same with the Grammostola aureostriata / pulchripes as shes getting bigger.
While feeding the last couple of times I saw something new with my Psalmopoeus cambridgei. Whenever i move or touch the enclosure she hides. I don't use bright lights in my T room after dark, so when I want to feed "after dark" I use a Small Maglight. Her enclosure has a small feeding hole right on top. Tonight I did a test to see if what I saw the last couple of times are true. When I shine the light on her enclosure, she comes out from her hiding place and comes to sit below the feeding hole, and she stayed there till I dropped the roach. It seems like she knows that this sudden light on the enclosure means food.
I don't know if this is normal, but it is new to me.
