Hi Guys back again with more questions...

As we all know winter is coming and will be upon us in about 2 month or so..

My question is what is the cheapest and best way to keep your slings and adults warm and feeding and growing in this cold time.... i have converted my old house keepers room into my spider room....
i know many people are against heating mats... but i have recently hear you can get the lowest watt heating mat a 2 or 5 wat and keep it on the side of the tank for the whole of winter.... any good???????

thanks guys :)

Step 1: Buy ordinary oil heater
Step 2: Put in room and switch on
Step 3: ????????
Step 4: Profit!

Oil heaters dry the air out supper fast.

Those silver heating pads you buy at the LP are fine to be left on all day and for the hole of winter!

I would suggest to buy yourself those wall mounted heaters they warm the air and don’t dry the air out so much.
If you really clued up you can install a thermostat and it will regulate your rooms temp for you.

But also depending on the amount of tarantulas you got and size of your room?

i have one of those silver heatpads but mine dont get thet hot,if i would (wich i never will) put lets say a dragon stright on it,it will get him warm but if i put it under the tank and put my hand on the insit of thank on the bottem,i cant realy feel a change.i just put on one of those heaters with the 3 lights in it and put a bowl of water infront of it so it wont dry out the air to much. :)

I'm also really worried. My curly and boehmei are still just tiny specs!
I'm thinking of getting some of these:

and putting some heating mats on them

Just buy yourself a small heat pad and share the pad between both tarantulas.

Only cost you R50 and you can run it the gile winter or just on cold days!
