Why did you start keeping tarantulas and did it learn and motivate you to start wondering more about other creatures around your home and field?

I don't quit know why I started :S But I am happy that I did

I went to visit a friend in New Castle and his wife said we must go to a petshop so they can show me all the snakes, big spiders and other things. I thought it was boring

and 3 months later I bought my first tarantula because of that petshop and I just wondered how it would be. The day I bought my first tarantula the guy at the petshop told me, "to keep tarantulas is like using drugs, you just want more and you will start paying more for the better ones". Told him I only want one. To bad for me, his words was still fresh and a week later I had 5, a month later and 30. So my collection just grew and I started to pay more and more for the rare tarantulas, just like he told me.

Know I am more involve with nature and learn new things about nature around me.

Ive always been interested in creepy crawlies. Started keeping spiders when i was very young. Joined the spider club around 1993 (when i was 10) to learn more about arachnids. Got into tarantulas around 4 years ago after keeping baboon spiders all the years.

Was all SuperD's fault!! He gave me a gift of 2 tarantulas slings. Now I have way more than 2. Don't think my wife will ask for gift ideas from him again...
