Sad day indeed.
I have checked in on the site every single day.
You get this message when opening the site:
To All Our Users, It's been almost 10 years now that we've been trying to help the Arachnocommunity to the best of our ability. Unfortunately, sometimes, one has to step back and assess if it's worth it. We've dealt with alot of garbage over the years, some of it recent and some of it not so recent, but we always continued on. Sooner or later, a straw will fall that breaks the camels back. Well, it's fallen and it's name is
arachnohaters.com
We've put our hearts, souls and time into making this site the biggest arachnid community on the web. Frankly, it's not worth the disparagement and ridicule that we receive on a regular basis anymore. Whether it's people who bad mouth us on other sites yet come back to use our classifieds to make money. Or it could be people who break our rules and then complain about, or create other sites to complain about (yes, I'm looking at you arachnohaters.com) the rules that they agreed to follow when they signed up. Maybe it's the people who talk about problems they have with us at locations we don't frequent without notifying us so we have the chance to do anything about it. This list could go on and on and on, but there's really no point... To anyone out there looking for information I would suggest using the British Tarantula Society's forums at
thebts.co.uk/forums/index.php
or the American Tarantula Society's forums at
atshq.org/boards/
To all our supporters and users, thank you for the time you spent with us. We hope you enjoyed the site and got some useful information out of it. To all the haters out there, you know where you can go........ One final question, The quality of the information you got out of Arachnoboards was what you put into it. Did you ever do anything to combat the problems you saw or just complain about them somewhere else? Scott and Debby
I hope this is a stupid April Fool's joke, but I doubt it.
