Phormictopus cancerides help needed

:S hi my Phormictopus cancerides male is 13-14 cm had him and my 13-14 cm female open last night to clean cages next to each other and the male started doing a mating dance... now the question neither he or the female are mature yet so why the mating dance??

It happens sometimes.
I have had mature males mate with immature males before.
Boys will be boys you know. Suppose they are just pre programmed to it. :)
