Phormictopus cancerides help needed

Actually heard of this happening a few times.
It happened with some P.formosa's that I had. Bought them as a breeding pair and had them living together for 2 months or so.
The male would tap and the "female" would reply. Eventually "she" fattened up nicely and I noticed "her" webbing heavily one day, so took the male out thinking "she" was going to drop. "She" moulted into a huge 22cm male.
