I put a heating pad between my two big tanks, and taped a length of heat cable in a S-shaped pattern and covered it in foil. My juvies tanks are on top of this cable, since the heat is spread across the shelf and not concentrated on one spot.

I then have a IR lamp to add more heat during the day. It doesn't shine directly on them, but instead heats up the shelf which then transfers to them.

Well I have moved all my heating pads to either the side of the tanks or the back of the tanks. Went to check on them this morning at around 3am and seems they were all out and about. My suntiger looked like he was running a marathon when i shined my torch his is tank. lol. She ran for cover really fast.

All were out except my damn Cobalt Blue I haven't seen her (i hope) since i bought her from scarab and moved her to a new tank. However, she has made her burrow nice and deep and webbed it closed. I have popped 2 crickets in over the past week and they can't go anywhere unless she comes up and gets them and they've disappeared so I'm guessing she's doing fine

Keep it to the side !!! To much heat loss when attaching it to the top of the tank! :whistle:

im new to everything Tarantula related and 3 days ago received my first Arboreal sling (avicularia versicolor about 2cm in diameter)
, i have her in a 10x 10 x15 tank and keep her in a room with a panel heater. i saw that they say i should keep her at the temperature that i feel comfortable and if im cold then its probably too cold for my T. is that correct?
im considering that it is best to get a heat pad and a thermometer for her little tank.
dont wanna go wrong anywhere as i am already highly attached to my new baby!

Avics are rather the more difficult Tarantula specie to care for.

Try keep the temp at around 25-28 degrees but more importantly, make sure there is air flow. When i say air flow, i don't mean a fan but the air needs to be moving in a way. Good ventilation basically, the air mustn't be stagnant.

Keep the humidity at around 75%. If you getting heating pads, put the heating pad on the back of the tank. Mist the cage once or twice a week.

I would like to know how low the temperature can go for a T like an avic or any other tropical Ts, theres a thread about how Ts will be fine at whatever temperature you are at, right now my room is fine, 24 during the day and maybe 18 or 19 at night, now is this ok for an avic, and when its gets really cold will temperatures that are maybe below 15 also not that great? Thanks
