How long can u keep a MM before its no good?

Mature males last until they are dead...
If you have the opportunity, keep on trying him with females. One female will eventually eat him, usually the last one he will mate with... ever.

lol...
on a side note, and sorry to jump in the thread, but when do you know when your tarantula is actually an adult? I could work on years for the different species or maybe size, but is there another way to tell for sure?

Mature males develop bulbous pedipalps, in some (most) species also Tibial Hooks/Spurs/Apophysis. In some species, sexual dimorphism (obvious physical difference and outward appearance) clearly separates males from females.
In mature females, the spermathecae(capsules storing sperm) would sclerotise(harden) and turn dark Amber in color, specifically around the edges.
