How long can u keep a MM before its no good?

I have heard holding a Mature hooked out Male Tarantula back on growing and keeping it cooled so that their metabolic growth rate drops down is a bad thing when you want to eventually breed the T.
Results might include:
1) infertile males seed... ~o ~o ~o ~o = ~x ~x
2) smaller egg sack etc.
Rather ask around for a mature female ready to breed I am sure there will be a member around to breed with?
