In all the years i've been collecting i have only seen them once for sale.
Neither Petbugs or Sainverts have had for sale.
So this is why im encouraging those that bought the other 18 to get together and try breed to make them available to the hobby.

You cannot look at prices of Us and Canada sites as they are very high.

Europe's prices are more in line with us and Germany by far the cheapest which is where most of our imported stock has come from.

The reason i use Canada is that they have stricter fauna and flora regulations, but still nothing like we have! England has none left as its mostly alien species that have over run their country. This is imo definitely related to the price and availability of the species as they were easily obtained in decent numbers for the British population.

We on the other hand cannot import any tarantulas as this is illegal no? We have a limited stock that not all will breed, thus the numbers will stay much lower for longer periods of time. Im not arguing that the prices should stay high but rather that the price is usually a very good indication of the value of the specimen. I for one would love to breed and sell for lower prices, but then again i feel only true tarantula lovers with a drive to progress the hobby will do so! Even so, it will be a slow process and not just a quick drop as that person would like to regain his money spend and effort+time put in to do so.

This is just my take, facts will be needed and more information as egg sake numbers will make this a little easier to picture a result for the future. I guess only time will tell!

The truth is that my love for t's is still there but the lack of imports/variety means i cannot grow my collection and further fuel the fire.

Breeding has always been a way of getting extra cash to buy more and now that there are no choices it just seems that its financialy driven.

It has never been about the money so now theres really no need to continue breeding.
