I have a Red Rump spiderling about the size of a pinky fingers nail, ive had him a month now and i have not been able to get him to eat, ive used the smallest crickets I can find and even tried to feed him dead crickets but with no luck! He runs away if a cricket gets near him!

do I have reason to be concerned?

I have a C. Fasciatum about the same size. What I do is give him about 2-3 pinheads and them let him be for about 2-3 days before I open his container again. I've never seen him catching a pinhead but I still think he eats them. I think it is important not to stress his environment too much.

In short, do not be concerned they will eat when they are ready to eat and can go long periods without eating. In particular, G.Rosea (Chilean Rose) can go extremely long times without eating.

Take any food out of the enclosure and give it a week or two without any food and then try again. If the food is not eaten over night, take it out, wait a few more days and try again until the food is accepted.

Temperature affects my T's when it comes to feeding, I don't keep my T's in any "Warm Rooms" and they experience the temperatures as they are, and when it's cold they eat a lot less, but in the last few weeks as it's been warming up, they are already starting to eat again.
