Hi there

I've had my King Baboon for approximately four years and had never had any trouble with it. Yesterday all was fine, but when I checked on it this morning it's one leg was lying a few centimetres away from it and the spider appears to be dead. I fed it last week and there didn't seem to be a problem. The last time it molted was about a month ago. Can anyone give me an idea as to why this happened and how to prevent it in the future?

Can you post some pics of the setup as well as the spider possibly? A pic from the top and below?

No can do, sorry. Is there any reason for the leg falling off and could that be why it died?

Without some form of pictures, it would be wild guesses and speculation from anyone.

I suspect that leg got stuck somewhere and in an effort to free itself, the limb broke off. The subsequent loss of hemolymph caused it to die, or appear to be dead. As Cerat suggested, post some pixtureres..
