I actually use my peat in a much drier state than described above and just spray it before adding a tarantula (except for the few that need exceptionally high humidity levels).

In most cases it's enough to keep a corner or alternatively the roots of a live plant in the enclosure moist. Like this there will be less or no problems with mould, fungi and mites.

On the Arachnoboards you would certainly have earned a demerit point for making use if content that is not yours without permission or proper consent, but let this be a flag for all of us to make sure that if we pull in info from anywhere other from our own knowledge or experience, that a very distinct credit is given to the original owner of the material. By right you actually need written permission but if this is not possible at least place the credit:
