Nhandu, please share how you feed that much in five minutes?! I have roughly 27 and it takes me a good hour to feed them all!

I HATE having to hunt for decent enclosures of the right size.
I HATE hisser babies that climb up\out of the colony container.
I HATE it when you drop a juvie dubia in an enclosure and the first thing it does is burrow. Only to reemerge once you clean the enclosure.

Other then that, its awesome!

Mold, mold, mold - drives me insane!

having to move my MM pokie out of my room as his tapping keeps me awake at night

having the pretties girl pokie, and all she does is hide behind her plant in her enclosure and I don't get to see her

crickets that keep me awake chirping when not eaten by Ts, and then hide away so I can't find them to remove them!

Feeding time normally works like this:

For larger T's:
We usually shake out a bunch of roaches into an empty ice cream bowl. They are then unceremoniously grabbed and dropped into the tanks. Most of my large tarantulas catch the roach the moment it lands near them. The only one that's a bit of a careful feeder at this stage is my regalis.

The slings take a bit longer. I usually have a separate container with a water bowl and a bunch (100+) of roach egg cases. These generally hatch at the rate of 10 to 50 small roaches per day. I also have a couple of pieces of egg cartons in here. Take the egg cartons and shake the baby roaches into another container. (The plastic covers that you get when you buy a spindle pack of 50 CDs work pretty well.)

Open the sling's container and tip one or two baby roaches into the sling's container.

If you have to catch the baby roaches one by one it takes substantially longer.

I must mention that I have a communal setup of about 8 incei's in one tank. I started with ten slings last year but two didn't make it.

It can be a bit of a bugger - like this afternoon - when one of my pokies decide to make use of this opportunity to run around on my desk. It took a couple of minutes to safely catch it without hurting it. The terrestrials are generally no problem.

Not having money for the Ts I want, beautiful spiders hiding away all the time, I also had a male pokie knocking in my room and couldn't sleep either, mold, mites, food boluses, the fact that all my enclosures are different sizes and designs, aaaand spiders not droping egg sacks and molting out. Turks managing to escape my tongs, fall on the floor and just disappear.

I friggin hate crickets! They always find the most impossible way of escaping! I used to have a cat that would catch them for me, every single one that got out. You would be sleeping at night and suddenly I hear a big thud, only to put on the light and find my cat looking at me with both paws on a cricket. Foose the cat, what a legend!

It frustrates me when I clean out water dishes and come back to find a fresh slimy food bolus dumped in the clean water dish.

I hate the stink that crickets make in such a short time.

Mold and Mushrooms. I have so many friggin mushrooms, but my own fault for not nuking the peat first.

Oh and crickets. I hate crickets.

Urticating bristles... they forever find a way on to your skin... I scratch so much people think I have some sort of disease.

Oh, and I hate crickets.
