I've had a Parahybana lasiodora for the last two years. You'd expect it to be an adult by now, or at least pretty close, but nope. Mine moulted this morning and is only 8cm. This tarantula was 3cm for about 5 months. Is it merely a slow growing L. parahybana or is perhaps a different species? I checked a picture online and now my L. parahybana looks more like L. klugi. In fact, it looks exactly like the one on www.petbugs.co.za Hey, I have no problem if it's a different tarantula, just wanted to know if anyone else has had this with their L. para blah blah.

My LP does not molt as often as other Ts of that size, so maybe it is a normal LP thing? Initially I thought that if Ts grow slowly and don't molt often, it may be a sign that it could be female. But that turned out to be a wrong theory as well.

The one thing about Ts is that they are all different, and you will probably get responses about LPs that molt every week! :P

My LP is approx 18 months as is currently about 7cm. I don't overfeed it. This is quite average in my opinion. My G rosea RCF takes FOREVER to molt and when it does, it barely gains in size.

I had the same issue with mine, that is why I thought it may be a girl, but then it hooked out at about 7cm

Mine is one year old and is about to molt to about 10-12cm size, and it's a female.

She grew up pretty quick, but my brother has a G.pulchripes (Chac golden knee) that took almost 2 years to reach 3cm, and now is suddenly growing like crazy. There must be various factors that influence their growth speed and it could be as simple as what you feed, how often you feed or how warm you keep your T's.

As many already know, T's kept in and around the house at normal "around the house" temperatures will probably grow slower than a T that has been kept in a warm room all year around and will obviously gain an advantage during the inter months.

My G.Pulchripes went from about 8cm to 12cm in 2 months
