Yip quite correct to assume so.

I think the discussion is about how easy it is for them to drown. It seems the general info on the net warns keepers against water dishes being too deep which may cause the tarantula to drown.

But as per links on thread you will see that some spiders that have been submerged for a period of time without drowning.
