I just want to point out that I have not left the hobby. I still have 3 T's left, and i doubt I'll be selling them.

As to the sudden spate of collection sales. Well, it's simple really. Many people might be thinking of selling, but are reluctant to do so. Then they see someone else sell their collection, and it gives them that last little push. For me at least, this was the case.

On the point that Dimitri made. I am not as sentimental about my T's as I am my dog. Is anyone really that attached to their T's?

On that note, a quick question to people selling spiders currently.
Are you struggling to sell spiders for what you believe is a good price?
Lately there seems to be a lot of *bump* posts for spiders in the classifieds that I would have expected to sell pretty quickly for the prices advertised at. Is this just a case of new users not buying more common species? Not enough new people in the hobby to buy all the spiders currently being sold? The economy?
Your thoughts?

I was surprised that I was unable to sell a P subfusca sling at R700. Got an offer for lower, but I felt it was worth more so I didn't sell it at the offered price.
Some of the more common Ts... I was expecting to be able to sell some juvies at a price of R250/350 if you take into consideration the fact that some of these species take 2 or 3 years to reach that size. But anyway. I am glad I did have to sell them all or sell them at a ridiculously low price.
I have to keep myself from not looking too hard at for sale threads as these collections have some really nice species for sale and heaven knows I can't afford to buy them at the moment.

I wish I could say that I have never sold a spider because I needed the money... but that cherry have been popped for me :D

@Synergy. Think the subfusca are one of those spiders that lots of people talk about and want when they see pictures, but when they see the price they get discouraged. Its a bit of a case of supply and demand of locally bred spiders. Once there are enough and you don't mind being one of the last to own it, the price will drop.
As for spiders like Brachy's, etc, the prices have really dropped on those, but still feel a few hundred bucks for a juvie is a good buy. People are just expecting to buy for cheaper and cheaper I think which is a real bummer if you were buying spiders as an investment, or if you need to sell the spiders as you are in need of some cash.

Hehe, no worries dude. It was worth a shot. And I appreciate all the help I got with my situation. :D
I once made a low ball offer on an uncompleted house and they accepted. My wife said it feels like when a dog chases it's tail and eventually catch it, and then not know what to do with it :)

Keep in mind that you just spent a pretty penny on Shane's collection. You got some nice Ts there. He had a stunning collection. I told him that his collection made mine look like $hit :)

My dog will have medical aid from 1 September to avoid this every happening again
