B) So I got two H.gigas a while ago. Both from the same breeder, both was the same size at the time.

The one burrowed right next to the water bowl and he keeps wetting his peat. I have to refill his water bowl almost every day.
The other one burrowed at the other end of the enclosure and hardly ever comes to the water. His enclosure is very dry compared to the other one's.

So I have attached two pics to show you the difference in size between these two tarantulas. You can compare them against the water bowl as they are both the same size.

I just thought this is very interesting as they both get the same care from me. They get the same amount of food at the same time.

That is very interesting!

I have 4 and they are all the same size, molt around the same time as well.

Thanks for sharing.

The only difference I guess that has an impact is the fact that the one keeps wetting his peat. His enclosure is a bit smaller as the other one as well. So because it's smaller and wetter the enclosure obviously has a higher humidity reading?

Not that males always grow faster than females. but could also be related to the sex of the spider.

Please dont think im being rude here...
why do we get so fascinated by two of the same species that are different sizes/colours/tempers at the same age?
Human beings are all the same species (H. sapiens) and we ALL look different from one another, thats not amazing, thats nature making things individuals.

And dont we still get fascinated by the kid in class who is twice the size of the rest of them? Or vice versa?

I agree it's probably just an individual growth rate thing and nothing influencing them but still is quite fascinating.
Then of course there is the sex idea of cerat's, who knows.
I have three B.albopilosum slings at the same age and one of them is less than half the size of the other 2 as well. Curious indeed.
