Hey guys.
I have a B.albiceps (3-4cm) and a B.sabulosum (3cm) stuck in the post since Monday the 1st of October. How long will they be able to survive in the post if they packed well?
Thanks

Hey there
i got this of a forum where some guys were busy talking about the shipment of tarantulas, this is what they said..

"They can live a week or two in superb conditions.

The question is: are the conditions superb or not?"

and "I had a package I sent traveling back and forth across the country for ten days in the middle of January and everything survived. So it's possible for them to be ok. However, I also had a sling arrive DOA with great packaging and overnight shipping."

So there is a chance the T's will be okay..

@Hendrik:The strike action by truck drivers is in full swing nation-wide. The strike by nearly 60 000 truck drivers started yesterday. Reports indicate that the industrial action is expected to hit KwaZulu-Natal the hardest. The protest is also expected to hit the freight industry, resulting in fears of petrol shortages around the country if it drags on for a while.

South African Textile and Allied Workers Union (Satawu) Deputy President, June Dube says they are demanding 10% wage increase whilst the employer is offering 7%. "The reports that we are getting is that there were number of roads that were blockaded by trucks, particularly the road between Henrina and Ermelo," says Dube.

Meanwhile, the Road Freight Organisation says it will meet with Satawu this afternoon for feed-back on a revised salary increase offer.

Spokesperson for the Road Freight Organisation, Magrieta Brown-Engelbrecht says: "We met with the unions on Friday and Saturday to discuss possible proposals and they're taking that back to their members today. We're meeting this afternoon at three o' clock. Just for the record, the unions official demand has dropped to 9% about two weeks ago. We were at 7% but as I say we did explore a higher offer over the weekend in an attempt to resolve this dispute and we will be getting that feed back this afternoon."

There is a truck drivers strike going on at the moment,
the talks broke down so the strike is still on going for the moment.

They do have trucks driven and collecting post, but it is not as many as what normally are needed to get the job done as fast as normal.

They should be fine, if they are package properly.
There has be some stories where spiders have been lost for over a month and when the person gets the package they have molted and are still ok.

So please people wait till the strike is over or you will have snail mail.

ok so who you who are wondering the post office strike is suppose to end on Monday unless the workers want to be fired.
As for my spiders i finally found were they are.... Pretoria speed service depot...right where they are striking at so there is no way for me to get my spiders. I know they are packed well cuz they were sent by Mandie and Tim... Now I just have to wait
