I have been researching regarding these beautiful species and it seems that not a lot is known regarding them or that they are easy to breed, I would one day love to own one of them, but as things are, I was told that if I can get one, I can expect to pay an arm and a leg for them.

So has any of our memebers on here got one of them, and what is your experience in the keeping of them, and please share some pics.

I had the oppertunity once of being able to touch one of them, by a breeder I got my Curly from, and it truly amazed me as he flipped her over and she laid absolutely dead still as I lighty touched the underside of her abdomen. I will admit that my fasination with them is their pitch black colouration.

docile like all the Gramastola's, and beautiful.

I have four spiderlings, about 4cm in size and they are highly energetic and a total scream to watch when being fed. They are so keen on their food that the backsides lift up in the air and legs flaring to the sides, when they chow down on the roaches

I also have an un-sexed 7cm juvenile who actually molted in Niekie's car, being driven home! She is gentle and a bit shy at this point of time, but does come out regularly to show off her new "coat".

And then I have this gorgeous female, about 10cm in size and oh so tame and loving! She is absolutely gorgeous and I hope to find a freshly matured male for her soon. Here she is sitting on my hand, the day we brought her home ...

Ive heard they only mature at about 15cm... so is your's mature then Lynn or is 15cm just wrong?? Our female is about 9cm now and gorgeous!! But think more in love with our MF brachypelma schroederi (mexican black velvet)
