I am getting my first juvie of this species (around 7cm) and need advise on housing requirements. I understand they fossorial and need deep substrate but am not sure how big an enclosure to set up. I am concerned she/be well be to close to the lid making an encounter with my hand more likely.
You can all ready put her into nice sized enclosure if you have space, and she will grow into the bigger sized tank.
They do make awesome webs so enough height will help with the webbing aspect, and you can give her nice amount of peat..
So I kept mine in three different sizes cages, first is 330LX220HX220D and then 2nd is 500LX350HX300D and also kept them in medium plastic tubs..
Do not worry to much about them being close to the lid, they are skittish and tend to run and hide when you do open the the cage, so you should not have to worry to much about your hand meeting her..
