In my eyes when one boob is bigger than the other, it will still stay.....

Wait for it.....

Boobs!

:) :) :)

Oh ja, I would say keep the group open and fun... Else the US of A will send out a task force to kill your dictating behind...

Anyway, I love what the forum use to be. These days I just come on to see who is selling what... Not much more happens cause there is a "search function" for all your queries. Don't get me wrong, if we end up like some other forums where every second person asks whether their "rose hair" is ok cause it missed a meal, then I will have to slice my wrists with a spoon. But there is nothing wrong with good old chatting and questions being asked. And if the question get asked more than once, so be it, maybe, just maybe someone new joined that didn't see the previous 5 times and might just give his/her valuable input.

What's wrong with patting a person on the back when a rare/any specie is bred? But rather we should just do the impersonal thing and press the thank u button and congratulate that person with a PM (which is not supported on tapatalk (due to Kunena or something like that))

There is 2 examples of the fun being restricted. My opinion, my views.

Thanks for allowing me to share, my name is Uncle Charlie and I am an addict.

@UC I agree fully with the breeding report thing ...used to be a lot nicer when people could actually thank and congratulate the person accept with just a 'thank you ' button ..
No wonder people hardly post their breeding reports anymore :(

Replied by Marius on topic Arguments regarding Taxonomy
The problem with being too chatty on the forum is that BS posters like me can very quickly dilute the value of the info with irrelevant posts or waffling on and on. About half the posts in this very thread have nothing to do with the Taki's original post. Thing to do would be for the admin to find a balance between social and relevant. You can't keep everybody happy all of the time.

I like heated debates on internet forums. Heated without being insulting. It helps readers form their own opinions, which they should, really. Not blindly follow advice.

@Huzi: Chicks can like boobs too. I'm not selfish : )

I'm not impossible. I'm being improbable.

Personally speaking as the "Webmaster" of this site i have been trying my best to keep both parties happy. It is very difficult indeed. But i have always tried to keep peace in the middle.

I do understand in some cases (breeding reports) people got upset that they could not post comments but as Marius mentioned it was only to keep it relevant. As 100 replies with "Awesome" and "Well dones" cluttered the whole thread and when searching for a specific post you would go through tons of comments before reading the actual relevant post. But i understand everyone's point and i am ok with allowing it again as it does add excitement to the person that created the topic.

I think my biggest concern is when insulting comments start flying around. Just feels to me that on forums people cannot control themselves. But again we can resolve it by editing the comment.

From now on the best solution will be to not delete any posts and if we do edit we will add the reason so everyone can see. There is a "report to moderator" button below each post so you can also contribute if you find something offensive.

But on a serious note, i do not think us admins and moderators have been so strict on this forum. We have only been strict on fights just to keep a friendly attitude.

And just to add my personal touch here, we have become a world wide forum and i understand we are based in South Africa and as a country we have regulations with local tarantulas. So what i would like to stop is that if someone does post a picture of a local rather pm him or just ignore. THIS WEBSITE is not nature conservation nor is it another form of policing. We have had 2 members from overseas send me emails saying they liked the forum but got bombarded about permits so they also just left.

It just comes down to being open minded and respectful. Fun comes first!
