R.I.P B vagans was created by Jaco
It seems like I have bad luck with B vagans. My x bought one last year as her contribution to "our" collection but he pulled a disappearing act within the first few weeks, soon after my x did the same.

Decided not to replace either one of the 2, but with my last order from Tim, he included an very small B vagans for free. Struggled a bit to feed it, but the T started eating ok, molted twice and this morning when I checked on my T's The B vagans was curled up and dead,So I lost my first T in just over 2 years since I was introduced to the Hobby, and I am not to happy today. Wish I knew what I did wrong or what went wrong.

Sad...

Did your sling have ventilation in its tub?

Yes, not nice to find a dead spider... BUT...

Animals die, so do people fortunately. It does not alway mean you did something wrong. In my humble opinion, ventilation for a spiderling in it's first three instars plays almost no part in the health of the sling. I base this purely on the fact that feeding a sling once a week would automatically require you to open the tub. (I must presume they are kept in the usual Ajar tubs.) The oxygen exchange of a second or third instar spider is so minute that the routine of opening a tub once a week would supply sufficient "ventilation" for it to survive another week.

What they can not deal with is toxic "fumes" from dead prey items, rotting exuviums left in the tub or an excess spores from fungi or the like. Overly humid tubs could kill them, to high or to low a temperature could kill them, or even a sudden fluctuation in temperature could kill them. There is only so much you can do, and never argue with Mother Nature... just do your best.

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

My first T that died on me was also a B.Vagans. It was one leg short and I suspect a bad moult. Not fun seeing a T die on you.
