No.

M balfouri can handle extreme temperatures. Deksham plateau ranges between 4 and 50 degrees. South Africa does not have the balls or claws to kill an M balfouri, but other unknown shite might...

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

If I switched all my heating off then I would question the death of the T.
I even have circuits build to "alarm" you when the power is off, or to "switch on my 2 parallel connected cycling battery converter". I will at a later date share the real basic diagram of a relay that will fire up an alarm or power converter to prevent any serious cold spells.

Will also upload:
How to build your own Thermostat 3 pin plug box
DIY humidifier "Just waiting for an egg sack to demonstrate"
DIY mech mom - controlled by 8 USB relay board "and how to programme it to suit your needs"
DIY electrical hammock - controlled by 8 USB relay board and "you have guessed it 8 x Servo's"
Ventilation control with DPDT switches etc.

Been working on a few projects, and then the worst happened

You guys do realise that spiders have been around for millions of years and cold spells won't kill them easily?
My spider room drops to around 10 degrees in winter and I don't have losses from it.
Heard of people who put their smithi tanks outside in the middle of winter to simulate winter conditions (With temps dropping to below 0) and the spiders being fine afterwards.
These are tough buggers and if there are unexplained losses it is most likely just the weaker specimens eventually dying instead of being weeded out in the first few instars like they would in nature.

I know your intentions are good, but why complicate things?
I have never used a mechanical mom and my eggcases do just fine. Pretty sure breeders like Hendrik and scarab just use a tupperware box with netting over as hammocks with great success too.
I suppose there is nothing wrong with the above systems, but just gives so much more potential for something to go wrong IMO.

Really sorry to hear Bud... I watch my 2 slings like a hawk, but they not exactly always willing to be watched . So at night i sneak in and switch the tanks LED light on and I get to see them. They are in separate tanks as I am too scared to chuck them in one. And I know what Scarab is going to say... and its not that I dont trust you Scarab... I just dont trust them not eating each other.

It is a great loss and I agree they are one of the most awesome T's out there. Dont loose hope!

whisper at Onyx. We bought a IR night vision 4 camera system...guess where they are now instead of watching our plot? ;) yup you got it.

@Cerat : I would like to experiment with the systems although some systems requiring the 8 USB relay card etc is on the pricey side I am sure that alot can be learnt. (Hopefully) all in time. I will start a thread on what my ideas are and my circuits I am working on so that people could add their ideas and lets see what happens.

PS 2 all. I am out of internet cap :( so I will be online 1st Aug. Thanks to all a few have phoned :) to share their condolences and thanks to you all. But true to form this is a support forum and I thank you all.
