My P Fortis was pre-moult for about 2 months - yesterday afternoon she started moulting - without flipping on her back.

I wasnt overly concerned as i have had plenty of my T's moult in weird and wacky poses ....

Came home this afternoon and she was still in exactly the same position - only the top part of her carapace and abdomen had come off .. all her legs and her whole bottom half was still in the skin.

She unfortunately did not make it had her 2 and a half years @ 16 cm legspan ... my first Pamphobeteus ever.

Can those who have successfully assisted a T in a bad moult please share ...

Yes Mam, I took a Brachypelma under the scope and surgically removed stuck exuvium from it's chelicerae with a needle. If I recall, Dave phoned me at 11:30 and brought it over. The T survived, allbeit with funny looking fangs. Dave can elaborate. It can be done, but has to be quick.

The worst molt I have had was one leg being stuck. I put the T in ICU immediately, and it dropped the leg. The first "intervention" would always to be to increase humidity.

Knowing you, I am sure your set up was perfectly fine, and this is probably just nature taking it's course. Doesn't make it easier though ....

As I said, I have. It can be done, has to be quick, preferably under a scope. I would gladly try if I was close enough...

@ Scarab ..i have had a look, but there is just too little of her that actually has come out ...all 8 legs, chelicerae etc is still within the old exuvium ... but thanks so much ..i know you would have assisted gladly.
