hey guys, i had a huge out brake of mites in my tanks the other day, i have taken all the live plants out and sterilized the peet, but was it the live plants that caused the mites or the peet? cause i really still want live plants in my tanks, so what do i do?

yes very sure it was mites! not the bad kind as far as i understand, they where white very very very small little things that moved around the tank but mostly by the plants and i had that "chicken" plant thing? iv seen people having LOTS of live plants in there tanks, so how do they do it? or was it just my peat?

I see a few regular customers in the cages some of which might be beneficial.

Small flies are from leftovers, they are stopped by keeping the cage drier.
Mites are not all carnivirous but also stopped by dry cages.

@Tai-rantula did you wash the plants before you put them in ?

im keeping my tanks dry for now, till i can get to the bottom of this
ja i gave them a rinse before i put them in! but they had no mites on at the time, cause the plants where in the sun in the yard,,, so i think its maybe the peat or,ag i dont know guys?
