From what I understand speaking to scarab, she double clutched then moulted and then dropped the 3rd eggcase and died.

wow that's hectic..... Triple clutch... Im sure she died from exhaustion or lack of nutrition because it takes alot out of a spider to lay a sac...

Well, I am old enough to know that shit happens...

She did two egg cases after her last encounter with a male. She then molted and fattened up rather unexpectedly soon after. I was going to mate her within the next few weeks. (This is the female I had earmarked for a P metallica male, I suppose justice has been served).

I still have the eggs Creator, I might consider an omelette in the morrow...

My chin is up Dave, I have a pregnant wife, ANOTHER M balfouri egg case, four gravid P metallica females and a bottle of majestic red wine, so no complaints...

I doubt it would Spud, it is half open. I don't expect eggs with legs soon...

I just found this freaky, a female dying with her ass half submerged in eggs... suppose Tarantulas will always have the upper hand, we can only ponder their utterly special lives... and deaths...

Sorry to see she died. It is never easy to find a dead Tarantula even if it is a male. I think her last will and testimony was "Life follows death". At least she gave birth to loads of slings and happy Tarantula breeders and hobbyists. And it still looks like you are gunning it with breeding your rare Tarantulas.
