A Leopon is a hybrid produced from the mating between a Lioness and a Leopard. Cannot come up with a Leopod...

Possibly a hip leopard with an iPod?

Hrothgar is correct. (your question)
A Leopod or Leopon is a hybrid lion and leopard.
(The book I read had it as Leopod)

I believe enough time has now passed to allow me to give this a kickstart.

So here goes.

If P. pulcher is not a Panama blonde tarantula what is it?

In other words what other animal has the abbreviated taxonomic name P. pulcher?

I know I know "not latin again" :P
