um, i like quite strolls and...

actually it all started when my housemate came back from the farm with a baboon spider in a jar, we fed it a christmas beetle and then i began to feel bad.

i went out and bought him a curly hair (Brachypelma albopilosum). well that was the beginning of the week and now i cant wait to go buy myself a whole collection

so i been researching, found this forum read a bit, liked it! and recon i need plenty of advice so i thought to make it official and register. thanks in advance.

oh hes heading to the farm the end of the month again and swears hes letting the vicious, bad tempered, obnoxious baboon spider go again. i doubt he'll put it exactly where he found it, since i think he wants to sleep on his pillow .

from a legal perspective and to not make waves on this site, I suggest you stay away from baboon spiders - unless you have the necessary permits to keep them that is

But otherwise, go wild and enjoy the hobby - tarantulas bring joy like no other pet - and I have pretty much kept everything except for a killer whale - and if my pool was a little bigger, I would have given that a try as well - enjoy!

Hi Mark, welcome! Get that Baboon spider back into the wild asap... it's highly illegal to keep them without permits. Good luck with the beginning of your T collection, I'm sure you will find the forum very useful - don't hesitate to ask questions. Keep researching, it's the key to a happy and healthy tarantula

corse no point in damaging stuff! i remember as a kid my moms house being invaded regularly with big hairies... then just rain spiders... and now, we lucky if we find daddy longleggs in the garage.

The problem is, even if a female baboon tarantula is being released back into the wild, there is little chance for her being able to establish a new burrow. Let's hope it's a male you came across. Or that you friend still knows where her burrow was and can put her back there.
