So sorry for your trauma, it happened to me and my little son 7 years ago as well. They never got caught

Sorry to hear about your ordeal cascade. Just glad you and you sister are safe. After all, you can replace the stuff they took, but not you guys.

really sorry to hear that happened to you Cascade... happened to me and my family before too !! not a experience i want to go through ever again nor would i wish on my worst enemy either...

that 40 minutes must have felt like a eternity ! can be glad no one was hurt !!

they caught the 5 men that came into my place, and after 3 0r so months of trauma and being harassed by the lawyers. dont even know what happened to the buggers... oh well.

try and go for atleast one session of counselling, that helped a little for me and my family..

same happened to me about 5 years back.

My saving grace funilly enough was my wheelchair. When I explained that I couldn't walk but would show them where to get what they wanted, they calmed down.

After that they were in an out in 10min flat.

thankfully no-one got hurt.

thankfully both of you weren't hurt badly - that is the upside to it!

I hope they gave you some trauma counciling?

I take it security is going to be beefed up at your place?

The same has happened to me a couple of times,the last was last year in july,my parrot screamed her head off and I knew somebory was in the house.I grabbed my gun and lay in wait because I saw in which room the guy was,when he came out I jumped infront of him and tried to shoot.But the gun got jammed.Luckily he ran away and didn't attack me when he saw I was defenceless.

But I'm very glad you guys are ok.It's a highly stressfull situation that can affect your life in any way.Choose to come out of this a stronger person!
