That must have been scary.

How do you rate the Avics for handling?

Avic.avic I would handle ANY day, except that I have heard how the heat of our bodies/skin is very uncomfortable for them to walk around on. So I usually let them walk around on my shorts or t-shirt while sitting down and they really are so calm and delicate in their movements. They are simply fantastic.

As for the other Avics I haven't had the luck of getting my hands on them all, but A.versicolor is a lot more skittish than A.avicularia and they spook very easily which can lead to them getting nervous and delivering a bite. It depends on the specimen, so spend a lot of time with them and you'll soon see who can be handled and who not.

Guys, can we get your impressions as well, not just which T's you've handled. Thanks! ;-)

hahaha, we will be here for long time if i have to mention all the
ts iv handled, but instead im gonna mention top 5 favourite and memorable
ts iv handled.

1 Megaphobema Velevetosoma.
one of the biggest and most strange but mesmerising tarantulas
u will ever see.

2 Lasiodora Klugi.
a very heavy and strong t, made me itch for day thou.

3 Haplomeplma Minax
the biggest minax i have ever seen. started in my hand and in
seconds on my head.

4 Stromatoplema Calceatum.
A male that run up its tank and onto my roof.
once caught i took it to my bath and tried to rehouse it
when it ran up my arm and into the sleave of my shirt. i could
feel the claws scratching my shoulder.

5 Theraphosa Blondi
Iv handled it lots of times but this week i took it show the guys in my
office. when i tried to put it back in its tank she ran up my arm.
i tried to gently shake her of and with every step she took
she scratch my arm. shes so strong that from her claws, her scratches were
so bad that they started bleeding. looked like i was skratched by a cat.

My Advice is mostly from my personal experience, but everyone is
allowed to give there own opinion.
