Okay so they not the same at all? There is a pet shop in edenvale who has a purple tree spider of about 6 cm I guess but they not sure what type it is.

I'm sure it was T.violaceus ,since A.purpurea is quite hard to come by and isnt the purpurea is more purplish than the violaceus ?

:( was indeed the T.violaceus, what do they sell for? Are they also hard to find?

I wouldn't be surprised if its the T. cupreus. violaceus are around at the moment, I managed to get a few at R250 each but that was a great deal. You shouldn't pay more than R300 for violaceus and not more than R250 for cupreus as slings.
