Hehe! Spiders are sometimes closer to flora than fauna. I even talk about repotting the burrowers, not rehousing.

It's one of the reasons I feed roaches, not crickets. Roaches are much less inclined to nom on defenceless molting spiders than crickets.

For the little burrowers I generally only feed it if I can see it. (Damn spider has to go to at least a little trouble ffsakes) and like everyone says, the bigger they get the less they will hide.

Only solution is more spiders whistle2

I will definitely get more spiders, if only to warrant starting a roach breeding colony!

This morning I noticed that some mold has grown on Jimmy's rock and little log. Should I remove these? (I am a bit worried about disturbing his tunnels).

Ye i would remove them, you never know about molds and certain spores can be lethal, even to human, so i would take it out personally. I have also had issues with wood in my enclosures. even after baking the crap out of it and treating it i still encounter molds due to high temps and humidity.

The curly will burrow another tunnel pretty quickly so i wouldn't be concerned about that at all.
out of interest how deep is the peet in the enclosure?

Your enclosure looks awesome. It might just be me but i think your peat is a little to wet or moist. Just let it dry out a and you wont struggle with mold.

I removed the log and rock and will replace them when I am more certain Jimmy is doing ok. I haven't seen him in weeks. Sometimes I see a foot through the glass where his tunnels have made little windows.

I suspect now that he is in premoult as I gave him a cricket yesterday and he hasn't eaten it yet. I can see the cricket in the burrow, but not the spider (not even a little spider foot). If Jimmy is busy moulting I don't want to disturb him (obviously) but the cricket is still down there and I don't want it to nosh on a tender newly moulted Jimmy.

Should I just leave everything as is and hope for the best? Or should I try to remove the cricket (it seems to be dead, actually, just not eaten)?

I am seriously considering taking out some of the peat and getting Jimmy a hide so that I will be able to see him now and again! But he does love to burrow - I just don't know if he is ok down there.
