I will defiantly do that.... Would be grate having guests over and our wall of spiders would just interest them....
Will really look spectacular.... Will like to have this up and sorted before summer... Will post pictures when done.... For time being they will all stay inside till big enough to move outside.... Sufficient heating is a must and Ill use a fogger if humidity is not staying constant

Another thing that could be a problem is insects and other pest from outside ,if its going to be warm in there surely it will attract them .

Welcome to the forum.

I like the idea, and that is definitely a talking point for a night around the fireplace.

The main and most important issue that has been brought up is heating.
This is something you would have to make sure that it never fails and you have a backup plan if something goes wrong.

One rule that will have to be in place, is no touching, handling, playing or showing off with the spiders after the consumption of alcohol (Dutch courage) for the spiders safety and of cause yours.

Lets ask this, where are you located?
I will go more into details depending on location.

I stay in brakpan. Yes please don't mock the area I know all the jokes. But to make it simple and unmockable yes its a rubbish area but we are well situated and got the house for a bargain. Me and my wife is well off and both drive rarely seen cars. No the cabinet I want will be wall mounted and with heating pads in every box. Cabinet will have glass doors and there will be infrared lighting just to light it up a bit. I agree jake will make for something to talk about around the fire place. As for the insects I dont think they will be a problem. Its underneath a sink roof. And all around it is this shades you see like spurs outside smoking area. In summer time it gets hot underneath it so summer time wont be an issue with heating. I do have a back-up plan. In winter if my heating technique is not sufficient Ill move them to the garage where its always nice and warm.

Ill try to draft a small sketch to show you exactly what I want. Maybe some one else can use the idea as-well.

No worries dude, I grew up in Benoni. Even Jack Parow mocks us lol. Good to see you jumping in boots and all into the hobby. May I ask where you are buying the M mesomelas because I also really want one?

Don't worry bud, the people that would of mocked or took a stab aren't around the forum. stir :eyepoke:  :P

This is what I was going to say, in summer the display case would be fine, your spiders should enjoy the outside air.
The only issue with winter would be the cold, the fact is this, even if you give every spider a heating pad, the cold will still be to "strong" or overwhelming. Also glass wont help keep it warm inside, as glass takes on the cold.

Different story if you have a room that the cabinet is in and not exposed directly to the elements, the zink sheeting and open sides will add to the cold or you can insulate your your cabinet and have a blanket hang over the the front side.

I know from experience that this works, I had my spiders housed in a cabinet, and the cabinet was kept in the flat that had tiled floors and zink roof, and I would put a sheet of polystyrene in the front and hang 2 to 3 blankets in front of the cabinet with a heating pad per shelf

You can do a test run and see what comes from it.
