Seems almost ironic that on the same day Cerat realizes his ornata female has successfully hatched her own egg sac, I get tagged by a 10cm juvenile. Most of my enclosures are now set up to look and be as natural as possible, and with all the plant life, pieces of bark and dead leaves along with some bamboo, its sometimes hard to see exactly where the spider is. So after a quick look and seeing nothing, I tried to remove a leftover piece of a roach and BHAM! My 10cm ornata came around the bamboo and bit my right thumb, one fang hitting the nail(you can actually see the mark on the nail), the other entering the soft flesh on the side of the nail next to the cuticle. It all happened in a flash, and was accompanied by instantaneous severe pain.

I immediately notified Cerat as I knew he would have a good laugh, then rushed off the the kitchen basin and rinsed my finger under really hot water for about 10 minutes. My thumb swelled a little bit, and I had this numb, burning sensation all through the night, and this morning nothing has changed.

Except for the numb, burning pain sensation I had extreme nausea during the night, and this morning diarrhea.

More recent symptoms now is a really bad headache.

That looks like a bad place to get tagged, thin layer of skin and plenty of nerve endings.
Sounds like your T got you good :chainsaw: but just as well it was only one fang I suppose.

Did you take anything (Anti inflams or such) ?

Only took some Voltaren's and Celestamine. ( I am actually allergic to bees), and this is the third time I have been bitten by Poecilotheria sp, and I can feel my body is handling it worse than before. I am at work now, and suddenly feel like my blood sugar dropped. Feeling a bit sweaty. other than that I am ready for 80 minutes of rugby. :whistle:
