The eggs don't come into contact with the sides, cause they can't move around.
Duke has been doing this for a while, so pretty sure the incubator is tried and tested. I have also tried it and haven't had any hassles before.

Spiders die sometimes for no reason. Best would be to start a new thread with the spiders names, conditions kept and symptoms before dying. Lots of people on here who could help you.
