Unfortunately had quite a bad weekend while i was away. :(
seems the P.subfusca are definately a flop. :( none have developed and they are starting to go black.
Also pulled my 2nd female striata sac and its unfortunately bad. :(
On the good side, the C.huahini looks like a 99% success. Around 200 healthy babies and just a few that didn't make it. Rehoused 125 tonight and will do the remaining bunch tomorrow.
Plus my P.striata babies also moulted into 2nd instar the weekend, so will rehouse them tomorrow and prepare them for the show. Looks like around 60 healthy babies with about 5 that didn't make it. Haven't heard of anybody breeding P.striata in sa before, so think its a first. :)
Both will be on sale at the show at the draco stand, and possibly some P.fasciata too if they moult before then. :)

Well, I suppose it's all part of the game

Yeah, it is.
Had 6/10 successful eggcases so far this year, 1 that was eaten by the female, 2 that didn't develop and 1 that half made it to eggs with legs. Not too shabby. :)
still have a few mated females and some boys lying around, so still have some time this year. :)

Thanx everyone for the wishes.
Just finished rehousing all the slings. All i can say is im glad i dont breed spiders like the Lasiodora's. Way too many slings there. :)
Ended up with 52 P.striata and 240 C.huahini.
Will keep some striata for myself and the rest will go to the show. Every P.striata sold at the show (@R130) comes with a C.huahini as a freebie. After that C.huahini are at R60 each or R50 for 10 or more.
If everything goes according to plan ill be rehousing P.fasciata next week for the show as well. :)

P.fasciata 1st instars have darkened, so expecting them to moult this weekend, so will probably have them for sale at the show. :)

Got a nice mating between my king baboon female and louwtjie's male last night. Saw 2 good inserts. Unfortunately she chomped the male before i could save him.
Then for the brave souls, my calceatum dropped last night after mating with snarfs male. :)
