Ok so let's list some stuff:

1) In your pic the tibia is black which elliminates B boehmei and B baumgarteni
2) The shape of the carapace and the black pattern on the carapace (missing the maple leaf) eliminates B annitha
3) I distinctly can't see bright red flames with a bit of cream near the end of the patella and also I don't see the two fairly distinct white stripes in the black area of the tibia which eliminates B auratum.

Therefore, IMO it HAS to be B smithi whistle2

You can take an Aphonopelma to crickets but you can't make it eat!

so - bar the kak camera work - B) -> that's off a (Samsung Galaxy SII btw)

we can conclude the following : it is a Brachypelma species - this is correct!

We can eliminate the following -> b. boehmei, B baumgarteni, B baumgarteni, B auratum and i can also tell you that it ain't a B smithi.

- So i will add the following tips to this matter -> compare the list above and cross them off the top 100 (as per the Top 100 Tarantulas listed above) and tell me what you're left with - also -> if you look at the molt colour... sum it up to be one colour and then you'll maybe be on the right track!

Ok, so the solution to the quiz as i see it is as follows:

If you look at the molt, you will see it is basically brown in colour. the T before it molted looked exactly like this. (see link)
www.tarantulas.co.za/images/tarantula-di...achypelmaemilia2.jpg
The legs and body were basically various shades of brown. Once it had molted it then looked exactly like a B smihi.
I am currently keeping an extremely close eye on this specific T to see how it's colours are evolving as the days go by, however will only get a further result on the next molt. -> hopefully it will look like a gooty

In my mind I'm 100% sure that its a Brachypelma emilia, Mexican Redleg however I was extremely confused after the molt how it so closely resembled a B smithi. -> and no i haven't mixed up the tubs or anything like that!.

If anyone can explain this to me further I would much appreciate it....
