I envisage a 1700 X 800 X 800 enclosure

It's a good thing I measured the space available before I ordered my custom built communal enclosure. :blush: The actual size will be 1400 X 500 X 400...

The friendly folks at PETSTOP completed the build in two days. The long wait to create something special is finally over. I will be collecting it today and start interior decorations over the weekend.

The five slings that are with their mother have molted into fourth instar this week. The second batch have molted into second instar and the third sac should hatch in about a week or so. We trust that Cerats female will produce a few after her shotgun egg laying efforts. My forth mated female surprised me with a magnificent exuvium, she will be mated again in due course.

Pictures of the communal setup to follow soon.

All done, waiting for the spiders. I will have this enclosure settle for a month or so, mainly to dry out somewhat. Also thinking about adding the female currently with young first. I will remove the babies, introduce the female and wait for her to make a proper nest. Once she has settled, I will give her her five babies back. I know now she will take them back. Once the next batch is ready, I will add them and so on. It will be VERY interesting to see if the adult female will accept five babies from another females batch, and later five from a third batch. Once the young have grown to substantial size, I will TRY recapture the adult female and give her a new fresh enclosure away from all the young.

Would you mind taking a picture of the front of the setup, so one can see the hole setup of 1400 X 500 X 400.

Does the setup open from the top?

What plant is under the log in the first picture?

Cascade, I have no idea what plant that is. It is a ground creeper, highly invasive and hardy as hell. We have issues getting rid of it in our garden. They grow like (my) weeds... :S The others are my personal favorites as you know, hen-and-chicks...

It has its own 1.2m daylight globe on a timer.

This is a full view. It has two lids, each lid has four vents. A picture does not do it justice though...
