Had a similar problem with the silicon at first.. Try using masking tape like we did in this thread...

The greatest treasures are not gold, nor jewels, nor works of art. They can't be held in your hands, they are held within your heart. For worldly things will fade away as seasons come and go. But the treasure of true friendship will never lose it's glo..

Also, if you didn't alreay know, apply the silicon to the corner joints, not too much. Wet you finger with some water, and run it along where you put the silicon (while its still wet). This helps get the silicon into the corner nicely, without it sticking to your fingers. Edit: which i see Angel mentions in that thread :)

The masking tape is a good idea to stop it speading to areas it doesn't belong. Will remeber that next time I fiddle with tanks :)

It's always easy to look at a tank and think "It's so easy. Why not make one myself" but anyone who's tried this will know that once you're there doing it, it's not quite as simple. I remember I got silicone everywhere when I first tried working with it. I picked up the tips as I went along. My first projects were disasters!!

I think it's an awesome tank, mist! And it's your very own design, which makes it special. Well done! I hope you make more. :)
