Basically a rand a Kw.

as for the hour usage I got no Idea, just that it will cost you an arm an leg to run a heater 24/7 for 3 months.

Then a word of advice, make sure you give eskom your monthly readings every month or they will do an estimation. They normally do readings every 3 to 4 months then you get one huge bill at the end of that.

Here is a bill, I will try find the bills over winter, where I had my heating panel on.

if it's 1 rand per KW, take the wattage in KWH, multiply it by the amount per KW, and multiply that by the number of hours. so for a 400w heater, you'll say (R1)*(0.400KW)*(1hour)=40c per hour. so if you want it 24 hours a day for 3 months (90 days) say 0.4*90. 36 rand extra on your bill, excluding VAT and usage taxes and so on and so forth. keep in mind, a heater's wattage varies depending on how hot it is while running. it'll pull more as it gets hotter, and the longer it runs aswell, and the length of the extension cord. everything you do affects resistance, therefore affecting watts per hour

I'm planning to go to Makro today and get a 400W Echo-Heat Wall Mount Heater. Not planning on having it on 24/7, thinking of hooking it up to a timer to put it on and off.

I'm just not happy with my heat pads anymore. I hate it when the T sits only in one corner of the enclosure next to the heat mat.

made a mistake. take the days *24 hours, then multiply that by the cost per hour. so to have a 400w heater on for 3 months will cost you 864 ex vat
