Hi Guys

So like many people i like to watch youtube videos with tarantula's and learn different things... Now i came accross a video that disgusted me, a few actually. I will not post any of the video's on this forum because its pretty violent.

Basically its some Chinese/Japanese/Taiwanese show where they make insects and arachnids fight... They put them in a small glass tank together and they literally fight to the death :( Now i find this extremely cruel the way these animals are treated and my question is....... How can we stop this? Report it to youtube? This guy has 723 subscribers and
1,325,139 channel views!

His username on youtube is chainsaw1618 so if you guys want to check it out go look for yourselves but i am warning you its disgusting and i cut the video after the first fight between a Mantis and a Tarantula (Can't remember what kind) It's all in chinese.

Guys if you have any suggestions or anything i would really like to put this to an end how these creatures are treated.

Its just an "insect" so there is nothing that you can do.
Lots of people on this site make similar videos/photos of spiders fighting roaches, crickets and mice. Just think of those poor hissers when the spider bites into them. Its disgusting!

Yes, horrible how we bring nature onto a civilized medium like YouTube. Those things are best left in the wild where it goes by un-noticed. God forbid we see any similar cruelty and carnage on Discovery, the outrage!!

I offered a few Mulberry leaves to my Pokies this morning, they are all busy spinning little golden silk hearts on card board. I will place all of those in my TKG...

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

I get you are upset, worried or disgusted, but you talking about a country who eats dogs and anything else that comes from a animal, That is the way they grew up, been like this for 100d of years, and will not stop anytime soon, As South Africans, we have no say what goes on in other countries.so just don't watch stuff like that if it is going to bug you.

Insect fighting is a big sport, and they breed insects just for the fighting, I say insect fighting is much better than putting animals together to fight, rather let the insects die.
They get a name and they are like heroes in curtain circles of the sport, they are like movie stars!

If you have to go back to Roman times with he entertainment of gladiators fighting to the death, lions attacking people so on and so forth that was entertainment for people.
Duals at high noon.
Public hanging
Stoning
Even computer games are shocking but yet most people play them.

The world use to be much worse than what it is now, so be grateful you live in 2012 and 200 or more years ago, when your life was worth nothing.
And sport was a lot more deadly.

 I agree Scarab... Let's convert our T's to vegetarians.

Is the fierceness of the spiders not what intrigues us?
