Totally agree!!Glad they caught the F#*$(#$!
I read that 5 rhino were found killed in the Pilanesberg this week, which brings the total Rhinos killed in SA to 210, since January!!

Some good news though, apparently a man from Thailand died using Rhino horn!

Sad times!!

Animals that die!Animals that cry!
Testing on their minds!
Testing with their lives!

In the spirit of what we have advocated here from the start, there is no need to give anybody "flack" Gringo, but it then remains my "right" to disagree.

Gringo wrote:

Thery are lesser animals below humans in my book.

There is but ONE, and only ONE human trait that is superior to animals, and that is the so called "intelligence". On every single other level, we are inferior. From the development of senses to pure physical strenght, from survival skills and awareness to endurence. From the smallest to the largest, we are only seperated from animals by our cognitive ability. Now judging on what we see around us, this might be a contradictory statement, as some behaviour by some humans clearly lack this unique ability. I am yet to see an animal set fire to another. I am yet to hear of an animal raping and then killing it's own young. I must still find and animal discarding it's newborn offspring in a sewer. Show me an animal torturing frail elderly for weeks on end. I could continue, but it gets worse...

In the animal kingdom, what you see is what you get. Step out of line, you die. I beleive that the right of any human is a precious comodity that must be garded by every individual person on this planet, step out of line and you forfeit this right and must face the consequences.

The root cause of all the dramatic collapse we see around us is the inability of the majority of people of accept responsibility for their actions and the imoral protection of people that clearly exist outside the universal laws that govern us all.

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

@ Gringo - the Vets dont go to jail for "killing an animal". They go to jail for breaking the law. It is illegal to trade in rhino horn, it is illegal to kill those animals that dont belong to you.

Bottom line - you do the crime, you do the time.

If they are released nothing stops them from just doing this all over again.

And i agree with Scarab - I am so angry that our wildlife has to pay for anothers greed ...

I wont even go into the rest of the debate ...

If we don't stand up and protect rhinos (and other animals on the brink of extinction), there won't be any left for our great-grandchildren to see in the future.

Greedy poachers don't think about the future, they just assume that there will always be rhinos for them to kill. But the fact is, a rhino is pregnant for up to 16 months before she gives birth. Within only 9 months we have lost 210 rhinos to poaching.

You do the math, our rhino population will never catch up or be able to replace the ones lost....

I say amputate the poachers' arms or legs and leave them to bleed out in a veld somewhere... after all - do unto others as you want done to you.

I have been thinking about it since I posted last night. Yeah throw them vets in jail. Their criminal activities are ongoing and therefor they deserve to rot.
