Nope, there are some smaller genera and species.

For any experts out there that could come on here and try take me apart for guessing without seeing the spider and its finer details, please look away now.

My guess is the spider wasn't bigger than 8cm and is a mature Harpactirella sp.
This is just my guess and as good as it will get without seeing the spider.

Thanks dude. I had a look at some pics, and they seem very similar. Especially those grooves on the head. (prosoma??)

Its a species of Harpactirella and its a mature male. Thats why you found it walking about, looking for a female.

We left it alone, and all was cool for 2 days, but then the cleaners came, and after that the spider was gone. I hope nothing happened to it, but I'm not sure.
