@ Ceratogyrus:

BTW, the P. Striata communal is doing really well. Its amazing to see how they scamper over each other with no real hassles. Last night I observed one with a food item in its mouth, the other directly in front of it, tapping its feet in a funny yet orchestrated way (like when they mate). Ever seen this type of behavior with individuals this size?

Well trained spiders.
They ask nicely for food from one another. :)
Havent noticed it with them before, maybe just trying to decide whether it should try its luck or not?

I mainly focussed on getting multiples of T's I already had, although I'm kicking myself for that since there was such variety at the expo.

Here's the slings I got:

A. geniculata R40
B. vagans R30
C. fasciatum R20
G. Rosea RCF R70
H. maculata R80 (my first one )
H. gigas communal of 4 R200 (also a first)
L. difficilis R40 (also a first)
P. irminia R100 (also a first)

I also got a parabuthus transvaalicus for R100, I just couldn't say no

Well we got :
1 x Brachypelma albopilosum : Curlyhair
1 x Psalmopoeus irminia : Venezuelan Suntiger
1 x Brachypelma boehmei : Mexican Fireleg R100
1 x Hysterocrates gigas : Cameroon Red Baboon R50
1 x Lasiodora parahybana : Brazilian Salmon Pink Bird Eater R100
1 x Acanthoscurria geniculata : (Brazillian) Giant White Knee
1 x Cyclosternum fasciatum : Costa Rican Tiger Rump
1 x Grammostola pulchripes : Chaco Golden Knee
1 x Grammostola rosea : Chilean Rose
Quite a few enclosures of various sizes etc.
Crickets and cockroaches
The rest of the T's were between R10 and R90 each.
Now after trying to read up on all the info, starting to wonder if i shouldn't have started out a little smaller. oh well Sink or Swim as they say. does any one have the tarantula keepers guide? does it have guides on raising the above mentioned T's?
