Don't worry mate, i'm pretty sure 50% of the people on the forums have the same problems as you. I myself bought my first house at age 23 and i know how hard it is. The banks are always like, oh R500k will only cost you R4k a month and that's it. They forget to mention all the other crap that comes along with it and ends up adding to R6 or almost R7k a month. I'm required to do private work on weekends or during the week at night just to break even at the end of the month. Been doing it for 2 years now and it is rather difficult but in the end, you'll make it work some way or another.

Regarding selling your tarantulas, I've also considered it at one stage when I was having a really bad month but I held out as long as I could before I would ultimately need to sell them and in the end, got some private work done which covered me.

I might also suggest doing some research on bond transfers, it might be possible to move your bond to another bank and get a lower rate, better period or even consolidate debt that will save you a lot of money.
