Maizeys is where I got some off-cuts last year. You can just rock up there and go through the pile of off-cuts. Was R50 per kg if I remember correctly. Works out more than buying an entire sheet though, and the entire sheet you can have cut into how ever many pieces you want. But then you are looking at a fixed minimum investment amount.

Planning on buying a full sheet of perspex/acrylic glass by month end, recon I'll be able to make a number of different sized enclosures. Both for arboreal and terrestrial T's. Don't like the arboreal setups opening at the top, makes keeping the enclosure a little more difficult.

I'll let everyone know as soon as they are done.

I'd also like to know where to get nice enclosures. Pokies can go 20cm+. The arboreal enclosures available these days just aren't big enough.

Could be

I will go for glass for large enclosures. which I am having to start doing now. 1 April, I will have been keeping Tarantulas for 1 year. Up to 29 specimens now, most of which are getting large enough for final / semi-final enclosures.
Perspex for small enclosures are not really worth it, they spend 2-3 months in them. The middle enclosures are fine for perspex, 6-12 months in them. They are light and very clear and nice for photos without distortion.

For large enclosures, the cost of perspex isn't worth it.

Just my opinion :)
