Indeed they are.

Good grief... what do you feed the slings? pre-killed germs?

I have a pair Euathlus sp. "yellow" tarantulas that I will mate as soon as the female has molted. The mature male's legspan is about 4cm.

Hi Mandie, before you order from him, please make sure what specie he is referring to. Some guy told me the same thing almost a year ago, he had males, females and slings. Quite a lot of them. Made an appointment and went to see him. Turned out to be Harpactirella sp. (Lesser baboon spiders). Its a local specie. Even watched a successful mating attempt. Wish all T's mate that easy. :(

Just told him that I am not interested and send the right people to go see him! They removed and relocated all of them.

Came across guys selling them again a couple of months later.

Magnificent Duke is right, many species come in tiny sizes.

I was on holiday in the North West last year and ran into, or rather it ran into me, a small spider that to me looked like a miniature Baboon Spider, I caught it in a cup and an closer inspection discovered that it was indeed one of our local baboon spiders, and at a size not bigger than about 2.5 or 3cm, was a fully mature male with tibial hooks and "gloved" pedipalps.

Not sure which species exactly it was, but I took a few pics and it has been speculated to be one of our Harpactira sp. which among others is also illegal to keep/collect in SA.

However, if you can get your hands on Encyocratella olivacea, this is an African Baboon which is not on the protected/illegal species list, and is beautiful.

Just search on Google.
