in my opinion these are the only truly docile spiders. Mine has always been super calm, moves slowly unless really spooked by mistakenly dropping the tank enclosure or bumping something really hard, otherwise I can do just about anything around it. It never kicks urticating bristles (don't know if these can even do that), it never shows the threat pose or does anything in a nervous manner. It does not like being handled however, and if I pick it up, it finds a nice launching spot, and jumps with all its heart.

Some people say they are a bit demanding with their humidity and air requirements, but kept in a nice glass enclosure with 2 water dishes and no substrate, mine has done very well, grows well and eats well. I agree with Mike, great for beginners and a must have in your collection.

I believe they poo at you if you annoy them enough, I have never seen this but I would probably laugh my ass off if it ever happened. I don't know about you but I have never been poo'ed at LOL!!

She usually attacks when something comes near her. I have to first 'notify' her that I'm there, by bringing in a pencil or something. You can see the fangs lifted and likely hitting the pencil, but I always get a jirk from that sudden movement, but I can see the fangs retreating into the resting pose. :S

Then I can coax her and start handling her for whatever reason (like when I had her in ICU). She pooped twice that I recall, a jet of liquid going quite a distance :lol:

After all that show and drama, she is ok to handle and refuse to go back into the tank.

And I agree it is a T you must have in your collection, but not the most docile. Think you are just lucky with yours.

My Chaco on the other hand is an absolute best beginner to have. He loves to get out onto my hand when I open the tank. He will just relax on my hand or arm. Would be nice to train him to go to shops or school on my shoulder like people do their birds and I do with my beardy. I already have the petrol attendants on edge when they have to take my petrol card and my beardy is with me on my shoulder. Can you imagine having a big T there? :woohoo:
