I would just like to reiterate what I said earlier about the use of detergents (dish washing liquid) unless it is fully bio degradable it almost always will leave a residue on the item being washed even if you rinse it off. This is not some back yard advice but from my wife who works with hundreds of insects on a daily basis and regularly needs to wash tanks etc. Numerous people have suffered the unfortunate consequences of poisoning their insects from the wrong detergents.

What I mean is: I have some nice tall and narrow stones that I wanted to put upright against the glass or something. I live far away from a Petshop so can't get some things. I've got some branches that I got from a petstore that I had in my Arboreal cages but they get covered in mould and fungus. I actually want to use some big rocks/stones for my T. Ockerti as they are generally Semi-Arboreal and he spends most of his time on the ground.

Some thoughts and an experience or two about using rocks in Glass tanks.
Just bearing in mind you will be adding some weight to your tanks that they not made for so just keep that in mind that rocks and glass aren't the best friends.

Always have some substrate in the bottom when placing the rocks just encase you get a rock that slips out your hand or something like that.
Also try to avoid lifting the rocks will your pets are in the tank as you don't want a flat pet due to a mistake.
To support the rocks in the tank pack as much substrate against it and around it, to secure it, wet the substrate when it’s packed tight enough this will prevent the rocks from just moving or falling suddenly.

But otherwise it’s all logic and what you feel save doing

So what must be used to clean tanks that you would like to re-house a tarantula in?
How would you clean glass that has been cut and bought from the glass shop?

Thanks guys. I wasn't planning on putting them in any Burrowing tarantula tanks. Just thought my T.Ockerti could do with something to climb on. Oh, and they will only be going in tanks that have styrofoam padding on the bottom to support the weight a bit. I won't be using huge things, just some small ones. Thanks for the Advice.

Hey I have rocks in all my T cages I use special ones that have like a kind of dam effect in the middle then I just pore in water and tada there is our very nice water dish.
